I've been looking for a new chain.
I know I need a 520 and here did chains are good but I'm seeing different did  chains online and unsure which one is best.

Did you do a 520 conversion on your FJ?  :scratch_one-s_head:

OEM chains are 530. With the weight of the FJ and the amount of torque that is produced. Personally, I would not use the smaller chain.

I'm not the fastest FJ rider, I am 'half-fast', the fastest slow guy....

When shopping for a chain for the FJ look for the tensile strength. The higher the number the more resistant to stretching and breaking it will have. I prefer O-ring or X-ring chains, they keep the lube in and the dirt out of the important areas. Some will argue that a clip on master link is ok and have put countless miles on them without incident. I felt the same way till one day after a ride, when lubing the chain, I noticed the clip was missing from the master link.  :ireful: That chain did not see another mile. I purchased a new chain with rivet master and the rivet tool as well. The higher strength chain is fantastic. I check the chain adjustment every 2 or 3 tank fulls (when I lube it) and it is always properly set during the life of the rear wheel. You may also want to double check your chain size, the stock size for the FJ is 530.

This one is rated for bikes up to 1000cc

The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

Fred, and Mark are right.
You need a 530 chain.

The best one to get is the one with the most tensile strength, and usually the most expensive one you can afford.
Get one that's rated for 1400+cc Street Bikes, from a top quality chain manufacturer (EK, RK, or DID).
Don't go cheap on the chain. Some folks have tried and failed. :negative:

That's a very good chain at a very good price. You did well.
