Kookaloo  :yahoo:,
The weather and my time finally came together.
My neighbour & I decided on a quick fang from our place in Nowra to Kangaroo Valley and back. quite short, about 50min to an hour return.
Given it is a long weekend we decided to leave about a half hour after sunrise.
The neighbours bike is an 09 Kwaka ZX6.
As I'm still warming up after a long stint off bikes I decided to just follow, plus the ZX6 is a modern sports bike, so it gave me a chance to re-learn some lines and power out of the corners a bit more than the current nervous nelly line I'm taking.
Great fun, but a few late to bed wombats gave us some 'moments'.
Anyway, and the reason for this post, we swapped bikes on the way back.
I've not ridden a modern sports bike for about 1000 years. HOLLY G-FORCE Gravity Man!!!!!!!
Loads-o-power, great brakes, very nimble, surprisingly smooth, and lookks nice and angry (not a fan of the Yoshi whipper snipper sounding pipe though).
Got home, and had a bit of a back-slap, many compliments to the Z. I might even get one.
BUT, I wouldn't swap my Effie for the Z.
Yes I have the crappy 16", more 'feel' from the motor, and more inertia.
However, I have power to burn right through the rev range. I'm just as fast out of the corners, and in a moment of madness, I wouldn't be far behind :sarcastic:.
I'm now satisfied that Effie needs no further 'enhanement'.
I will fix the clutch as it does slip around 7k.
I will tidy up the cosmetics.
I will enjoy this bike as long as I continue to ride.
Long live the mighty FJ!
1984 FJ1100 Ms Effie brand new :)
1984 FJ1100 Pearlie, stock as.
1985 FJ1100 Mr Effie 647,000K and still running hard.
1985 FJ1200 'Yummy' takes a licking & keeps on ticking
2013 Trumpy Tiger 800, let's do another lap of Oz

After all is said and done, more is said than done :)

:good2: I think you have summed that up nicely for the majority of us mate! I would love to have a modern fuel injected Triumph Sprint or similar, but the FJ is fine for my needs.
