I have the time off, so if the weather holds I will be there with Thermite. Anyone want to split the cost of a room near RPM?

Yep.  Same...If it's not a monsoon, I'll be there and will split a room.  That's for Wednesday night, yes?

The 10 day forecast looks good as far out as the 14th. PM sent on the room.

I don't know if your route to Interstate 40 includes going through Kansas City, Mo and Wichita, Ks. If it does, I live about a mile from I-35/Kansas Turnpike. It would be awesome to meet you all. Even if it is only for a Gas, Eat and Go stop.

PM sent to Johnnie

Well, the weather looks to be acceptable. There is a 60% chance for rain on Wednesday the 18th, but only a 20% on Thursday.

I would like to get a solid head count so I can start working on dinner location for Thursday night.

Also, since the Canadians are the featured guest, what is the fare you would like to have.

We have a great American dinner place although kind of pricey, several Mexican options, a higher priced Italian place or a really good pizza place.

I also need a head count of those coming so I can properly plan for lunch on the Thursday ride. I know six Canadians and several others, but since the weather looks good I would like to get a solid count.

Let me know via email please. If all of the Canadians would also please email me so I can put out email to everyone at once.

We will be happy to eat wherever you prefer to eat. If the establishment has any local beers on tap all the better. Thanks again Randy for doing this. All the Canucks are getting stoked to go. The temp is dropping here to -16 on Saturday, so we will be happy to see Canada in our rear view mirrors.

Fj Johnny failed to mention it's -16 celsius.
That's cold enough to freeze the forks on an fj.

Hey Fred it looks like we are going to miss you on the way down.  We will be headed down the 44 to Oklahoma City.  not sue if we cant catch up with you on the flip side if we get chased out of California early.  We will keep in touch .   Just checking our route down and the weather.  it looks like once we clear the south shore of Lake Erie it should smoother sailing.   everyone is looking forward to meeting fellow riders. and plus 16 weather..

One more sleep !! :yahoo:
I'm so jealous. Good timing with this freezing cold weather  to get out of the great white north. Hope you all have a good time and a safe trip.  Bring back some warm California sun.
Looking forward to seeing lots of pictures with all your new friends :drinks: enjoy  the ride :dance2:

cheers

I am going for a long afternoon ride here in Texas as it supposed to get to 71deg today. Thank you El Nino for keeping all the snow and cold weather up north and east.  The west and southwest are having a wonderful winter.  Dave

For all you heading down to Cali, have a great time and a safe journey.  Make sure you have extra travel insurance on yourself, and double check with you're insurance company for the bike.  OHIP will only cover certain things, and you could still get stuck with a hefty bill should something untoward happen. A few extra bucks could literally save your hide.

I'm sure you know also to tell your bank/credit card you'll be travelling.  Otherwise the first time you use your card, it probably won't work.  Just talking from experience.   :dash2:

Now after all that downer shit, I am sooooo envious!   :cray:  And don't forget the SPF 30 sunscreen.  Our lily white mid winter skin won't handle that California sunshine.

Hmmm.... What else.... Go to bed early, eat your peas, stay under the speed limit...     And the typical conversation with the CHP is "Yes sir - no sir - absolutely sir - thank you sir".  I think that's all the Canadianese they will understand.

Pics and vids please!   :good2:
