Well, after being shocked at what my current meager shopping list from Randy is costing with the current dollar rate, I decided to investigate it further. It appears that our crappy dollar is set to hover around .70c for the next 6 months, and by mid next year could even drop to .60-.65c.  This is BS.

Anyway, I'm going to bite the bullet and get some more goodies from Randy. The exchange rate is a major downer, but some things are needed for the new bike. (Randys ultra nice rear shock is still a bit out of reach presently, $1425.00 before shipping).   :empathy3:

Don't feel bad. Our dollar is at 75 cents to the US dollar. It really hurts when I have to order parts from the US. :dash2: :dash2: :dash2:

Count me in as another cannuck that is feeling the bite.

You either pay the exchange rate and order out of the states or pay a Canadian retailer more than you would if you had just ordered it (they roll in the shipping, exchange and their own markup).

It's a "no win" situation......

You complain?

1 USD = 7.2 kunas (Croatian currency).  :dash2:

What should I say?  :good2:

Going by the radio the other morning, 1,000 Aussie dollars gets about $650.00 U.S. Doesn't seem to matter these days if our dollar is high or low, we get hit one way or another with something and never seem to be any better off.

Too young to be old but old enough to know better.

I am sure Randy has seen a decline in Aussie and Canadian sales. For me it is now cheaper to go to the dealer for many things. I am fortunate to live near the border and can have most items shipped to a US address for free. It still isn't worth it at current exchange rates. Of course some items are not available here so......

Yes, it is very obvious on my end. RPM is down more that 10% in all sales this year, with international sales down more than 50%

Here are the actual sales numbers for the same time frame of 2015 & 2014.

2015
Country Name                                  Total Items
United States of America                     2571
Australia                                            348
Canada                                              229

2014
Country Name                                  Total Items

United States of America                     2450
Australia                                            745
Canada                                              430

We have had to tighten the belt around here as well and make sure we are running a proper business that is not going to faulter based on global economic fluctuation.

I do appreciate all of the ongoing support that we have, both here in the US and from all over the world. I will continue to invest in the FJ for all, regardless of the current economy.

I might be adding to that a little this winter. Need to do a full carb rebuild. Needles are worn and no doubt my emulsion tubes are also worn.

I'm holding out hope for the exchange rate to get a little better by then....

fj johnnie

The exchange rate is like a pendulum on a clock. It will swing back RPM's way soon. I hope.
