Does anyone know where i can find a copy of the OEM Yamaha Service Manual for a 92 FJ1200 3XW - or pdf even?

I have seen the Japanese versions but haven't had any luck in tracking down an original paper copy in English anywhere.

You can get a paper copy of the Factory Service Manual from your local dealer.  That's where I got mine...

The reason I was after a full on paper copy is my experience with printed pdf (I'm old fashioned!) is that they don't stay in good shape in a ring binder for long, and none of the other binding methods I tried are that good

Over the years I have managed to replace most of my other bound pdf copies with OEM manuals which are top drawer. The last one was for a 1991 TZ250B 3YL, they only built that bike for 1 year. Unusually for yamaha its a total different animal to the following 4DP version from 1992 in many crucial areas.

It must be a 3XW 1200 version too.

Still, I'll keep looking and maybe get a jap one for now.

Have you tried the files section?  I uploaded a few "service" manuals ages ago, but they are not workshop manuals.

Usually it takes around 4 hours to find a downloadable manual on the net.

It's not a paper copy, but it's free for downloading.

I've got an old iPad 2 that sits in the garage. It's got a cracked screen, but it still works fine.

It holds all my manuals, my calculators, converters, etc...

I have been thinking of going down that path with an old laptop of my daughters, but as soon as I get it working properly she nicks it back.....!!

I do have an old Lenovo that I am trying to reformat after I format the entire hard disk unaware it contained a partition with the OEM OS install files.
Now I'm having the devils problem of trying to install any OS on it.

 Factory Yamaha service manuals are crap compared to Honda and even Suzuki and Kawasaki. I love the lack of clearance #'s on connecting rod and crankshaft bearings. No journal OD #'s either. Just an example. A suck manual.......Thay are crap in general.

Thats what I have found too, I rebuild crankshafts to the specs & tolerances in there...................??
