I rode that stock suspension '84 pretty hard on the Avons and was never a bit concerned...  totally predictable handling and excellent grip.  I think they stack up well against my still favorite Dunlop Q2/Q3, but getting the Storm was a bitch since there was a pretty big delivery issue and my tire wasn't even in the first shipment to the US after I ordered.  I'm going 17"...  not a doubt.

Knowing that the front wheel is 17". I would bet dollars to donuts that the rotors are 320mm. The attachment bolt pattern looks very close to the OEM FJ 17" wheel mounts. I am pretty sure that '87-'92 FZR1000 320mm rotors would bolt on.

For the rear rotor, possibly try this..... Remove the rotor on the PM wheel and remove the OEM rotor from the OEM 16" wheel and see if the OEM rotor will match up to the PM wheel mounts.

those beautiful custom wheels why would you go back to stock?

Not to be a buzz kill, but those wheels were known to have cracking issues I believe...  FJforever (SP? - he's an infrequent visitor that lives near me) has those wheels and told me a story of cracking and replacement.  Maybe he can comment?

The bike came with the original calipers and two springs that look like they go in the forks. The original calipers look good but I think the pistons are stuck. I may have bitten off more than I can chew, as I don't have the tools and knowledge to take on this project. Thanks for all the advice though, I really appreciate it. Dale

Thanks to everyone who has offered me assistance with my dilemma, especially the ones who have sent me P/M's with offers of help or to buy whatever parts I'm not going to use. I think ultimately I'd like to keep the 17" P/M wheels and their calipers, but I guess what I will need is new rotors and brake pads that can be used with their calipers. Thanks again, Dale

Well after further thought, I think I'm in over my head. I don't have the mechanical ability to do the work, so I've decided to sell the bike. I've placed an ad in the for sale section. If anyone knows of someone in the New England area(Ma.) that's looking to buy, please give them my email address. Also I would appreciate any suggestions on my asking price, I'm not really sure what the bike really worth. Thanks again guys for all the help. Dale

Please don't!  Looks like you have an extremely nice example of an FJ there. 

I know EBC sells brake pads for the PM calipers.  I'd be willing to bet they can also supply new rotors.  There US headquarters phone number is:  (702) 826-2400 or email them at sales@ebcbrakesusa.com with pictures of the calipers and pads that are in there already.  The PM wheels and brakes are worth the little bit of hunting to find the right pieces -- and keeping the FJ even more so!

Pretty certain you have the 125x4R calipers both front and rear. 

From a little research, the 125 series calipers are the "classic" 4 piston PM calipers; the 137 series are the "differential bore" version of the 125 series, and the 112 series are the 6 piston calipers.

The 125 and 137 series both take the EBC FA216/3HH or FA216/2HH pads (/3 are thicker pads than /2 based on disk thickness -- I'd order the /2 pads to be safe - may need to be replaced sooner but you'd be sure they'd fit on the first try).

Dunlop also sells brake pads -- they are the same ones carried on the PM website - part # 0052-1602DS for the sintered pads. 

I will confirm all this "keyboard research" when I get home and pull the calipers and pads.
