Good Morning everyone!
My name is Jeff and I live in the Kingston Ontario area (Amherstview specifically). I've been riding my 05 FJR for awhile now and love it. But I use it for daily transportation and its so reliable, other than regular maintenance I doing nothing to it. So I've been considering a project. I picked up a really nice 89 FJ in Perth ON (about 60Km from home). The market is slow up here for used bikes especially older than 90's. So I was patient and got a good deal. Its a good runner. All it needs is fork seals and the rear suspension lubed as it squeaks and squawks when its worked up and down. Easy fixes. I've already done some research on this site for wheel replacement to 17" and modern sport bike tires. I plan on a safety and insurance by sept (if I can find time from house reno's) and ride it a bit this fall before modifications begin.

Welcome Jeff, nice introduction and good looking FJ. My second FJ is an '89 but in the Stormy Blue, I was looking for the "Theft Deterrent" Silver and Red like yours. After kissing a lot of frogs I finally found one in good shape. The dark metallic looks really good in the sun. Get yourself to a rally and have some real fun with your FJ and other FJ lunatics that make this forum such a great place.
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

I did read one introduction of another ON member and he got a lot of replies from other Ontarians. One is in Napanee i think, which is about 20 min from me. I hope to hear from them as well.........

Check out Zeemaps for other local FJ owners. Not all FJ owners are listed as this map is voluntary.

Looks like you have some FJ pins in your area.

:hi: Hi Jeff...welcome to the world and Ontario crazy gang site

Lots of good people here to give first class help and advice, as and when needed. Get a hold of Paul in Napaneeeeeeee...he is your local go to guy, with 7 FJ's, a Vision and some other Yamaha rides in his stable :good2:

Lots of good people here in Ontario for you to hook up with...there is also a week end meet/ride, in August, that you may want to come along to  http://www.fjowners.com/index.php?topic=13609.0  and also a clinic/ride day http://www.fjowners.com/index.php?topic=14134.0 :good2:

This might help too... http://www.fjowners.com/index.php?topic=8828.0

Nice looking FJ mate...

John.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely, in an attractive & well preserved body...but rather to slide in sideways, body completely worn out and and with your last dying breath screaming, "HOOOYA LIFE, lets try that again"!!!

Welcome aboard from the Niagara Region. As Tiger said, the Napanee FJ hoarder is an excellent resource for any help you need. Join us for the ride in August if you have time.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys and the invite to your gathering. Unfortunately I won't be able to attend. I'm under construction at home right now and have not had much time for extended rides. Construction is winding down so I'm hoping to get out soon. I do get to ride though as I ride everyday to work. I think I've only missed 3 days since mid April.

I'm hoping to get the FJ safetied and licensed this fall so I can ride some before the snow flies. Just needs brakes checked and new fork seals.

My FJ has mis-matched mirrors. The left is not the same (maybe from a later model) and I would like to find an original. Anyone have a source for new or used?

FJmonkey

This is what I did on my '86, then transferred it over to my '89. Buy the OEM mirrors, not the cheap crap. My left mirror self adjusts above 75MPH, having to readjust when you are moving that fast in traffic should be avoided.

I remember that they are 2005 CBR 1000, if you want longer stalks that will clear your elbows even better then search this site for CBR 250 mirrors.

Your local Honda dealer . I bought two CBR 250 mirrors for $90.00. New. Takes four days max. to come in.

great white

I've got a set of eBay cheapies cbr250 mirrors on the way. Paid 30 bucks all in.

We'll see if they're worth a go or total shite in a week or so.....
