Manshed day in Nowra

G'day fellas,
I like to offer my shed and house, in Nowra NSW, as a venue for a South Coast Manshed day.

To give everyone who wants to come time to plan, I'm suggesting the 27th of November as the date. I'm making this a two night affair, so starting on the Friday and ending on the Sunday.

I have two spare double beds for sleep overs, and a couple of air mattresses. The nearest pub with accommodation is the Archers "Resort" (some say last resort). They have affair amount of rooms. Glenn Henry's partner has a B&B called 'The Pines', and Glenn will be along as well.

We also have plenty of space for anyone wishing to camp.

Just finished a firepit, so a campfire should be ok unless there is a total fire ban.
The pool is heated, so a relaxing splash is also available for anyone.

We should be able to work on half a dozen bikes in the shed at the same time, plus room for as many as we need in the open.

As I've recently returned to the FJ scene, I'm pretty light on tools, just some basics, welder, drill press, sledge hammer, compressor, grinders, but no specific FJ items like shim tools, or carbie tools.

There is a mob up the road with a pretty good dyno, and we can arrange a Saturday arvo 'Dyno run'. This would be $90 each, but they do give good info for those wishing to do that final bit of
tuning. Each run takes 20-30 minutes with report.

The weather that time of year is ok with cool nights and reasonable days. I've enough undercover to keep everyone dry if the rain tries to bugger up the event. Plus a few items to entertain large kids.

All are welcome. The more he merrier! :drinks:

1985 FJ1200 'Yummy' takes a licking & keeps on ticking

Count me in Troy. Alf's on his way home from Cairns so I'll ask him when he returns. Pete may also be a starter, I'll ask him ASAP.
I've got a bag full of valve shims, appropriate tool to hold valves down, carb balancing gauges and a truck load of sockets, spanners and anything else required to work on FJ's.
I'll bring my camping gear and camp in the backyard if this suits you. Looking forward to it. Can't wait already.
We are riding the Vic high country for 6 days, 2 weeks before the Manshed date so I'll be full of information about the proposed 2015 Victorian High Country FJ Rally.
       Regards, Pete.   :good2:  :drinks:

Hmmmm, Nowra.  I'll give a big PROBABLY at this point.
I have to spend some time figuring out a reasonable route that
doesn't involve either the Princes or Hume boreways.

G'day all, I might have to kill some staff here at the Bakery to make it to Nowra.
Although now that I've thought about it, if I killed them I'd have to do their work.
Perhaps I could Sweet Talk them  :praising: to sacrifice some of their leave around that time for my mental well being.
I'll have a real good think about it, so put me down as a maybe please.

Excellent Troy!

This sounds doable. Time off is not my problem, locking in exact days is. However I will set the wheels in motion nearer the time and do my best.

I'm going to Byron next month and maybe Tassie later on. Shaping up to be a good year for riding.

Don't worry about tools, I'll be carrying enough bottles of red to fix anything. Hell, enough of that and you can remove shims with your bare hands and measure clearances by eye.
I see you have a sledge hammer and angle grinders, that should cover most of it.

Mighty generous of you to throw open your house for a Manshed day for the FJ crew. You obviously haven't met any of them in the flesh, there's a reason it's never at the same place twice.

I see there's a positive response from we Southerners. This is good, it will lend some class to the event.

The camaraderie amongst FJer's is legendary although I am yet to experience it on any scale having only met two members, I hope that changes at your manshed day.

Thanks again for the offer, I'm looking forward to it, it's already in the diary.

Arnie

I've already done one Arnie.

It will be November so I planned a route roughly between the two, passing through Jindabyne and the Snowys.

Any way other than the Hume is 2 days so might as well make it a great 2 days. Lots of daylight by then.

Ray, Nowra is only a hop, skip and jump past Wollongong mate...... we did that run in a day for the Jindabyne rally so its not too bad.

FJZ1 1200 - It'll do me just fine.
Timing has much to do with the success of a rain dance.

X-Ray

Quite right Harv, will have to see how the dates pan out.

If you are in Byron Bay for a few days Noel there may be a couple/few of us that would love a quick sprint down to say hello,  :good2:
