Just remember, if surfing cannot be avoided, it is better when the rider surfs on the bike. Not the other way around.

Let us all stick to rule #1 to avoid any confusion with the surfing rule.
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

Yep, really looking forward to catching up with you blokes, this is going to be good fun.
It's still pretty hot weather in the region, yeah?
I also plan on going north, kind of up and over lake Tahoe to  to Oroville,Quincy, La Porte,Hwy 36, Hayfork, back down through Leggett, Willits, lots of the good roads, if you lot have any "Must Ride" suggestions, please put 'em up.

Only a few weeks to go now.

Hot & Dry...do not make too many concrete plans as Northern California is burning. I saw last night there is several forest fires in the area of Hayfork. Sonora Pass was closed last week as well due to a fire.

So, just because of the uncertainty of the ride routes I am probably not going to get them confirmed until the Monday or Tuesday prior.

Hell, the Altamont hills have been burning the last couple of days.

Wish I could join everyone, but I have to go to Chicago for work.  While hanging out and riding with everyone would be a lot more fun than work, at least I get to stay here for, 4 nights:

Fires are a way of life and death here in Australia too, one good thing that comes out of them I guess is the improved sight lines where the roadside vegetation gets burned away and the kangaroos or deer can't hide so easily.
You know we have feral deer in Australia too?
Still bringing my heated jacket,  been caught out before on those high places.

.....and the worlds largest population of feral camels, with over a million of the humpy buggers running around the Outback.

10 days to go till my U.S flight leaves, right now I'm in a very remote part of Australia's Northern Territory, in a little town called "JABIRU"
Fly home tomorrow from here.

Its the town, not the bird, all good,
it's up in Kakadu, the wetlands.

Long history there, 40,000 years worth,,,

Back home in Queensland now, fly out in just over a week.

See if you can count all the crocodiles in this pic

One can be seen quite clearly in the lower right. The other shapes are hard to tell, could be rocks. Near the water height sign has the right shape for a croc head. Possibly another on the left side, hard to tell.
