Woke up to a perfect winters day today without a cloud in the sky, so deceided to go for a ride in the mountains. With so many choices for a destination close by its hard to make a decision, but finally settled on heading south and going here.

Headed out through Boonah and took Carneys Creek road then the Head road, and the scenery out that way is spectacular, really should have stopped and taken pics but was enjoying the road too much to stop.

Heading up through the twistys I soon caught up to slow moving traffic, and as soon as everyone saw me behind them they indicated and pulled to the side to let me pass which was returned with a wave from me, why can't they be like that all the time.

The higher I went the colder it got, even turned the grips on for a while to warm the hands, pulled over at a lookout to stretch the legs and get a couple of pics.

Since having the shims done and carbs synced, the bike is running like a clock and pulling like a train, same with the handling, with Randys valves up front and the gixxer wheel with decent rubber fitted, the ride and handling is better than ever.

Headed home through Warwick and down Cunninghams Gap, spotted big groups of Harley riders going the other way, and as usual not one of the barstards waved, got home with just under a quarter tank after 260 km so fuel economy not to bad either. Sat down later with a few beers to finish off what was a great day.

Yes its been a great weekend and great riding weather. The area around Boonah is a great place to ride and I must get down there again soon.I had to choose which beast to ride and it turned out the wife was interested in a bit of dirt and a picnic. We headed up over the range and found a nice river for a picnic.
