Orders open in July. If I sell my house, I still won't be able to buy one after paying off the mortgage.

so lame!
US version:
limited @8000K RPM
and 100 hp
"race kit" is tied in with the VIN, impossible to import(sad, makes 212hp with the kit)

kit:

-Engine control unit
-Fr air duct
-Exhaust muffler
-AI joint cover set
-Spark plug
-Loadcell type quick shifter
-Gear shift drum (reverse)
-Data logger set
-Rr cushion connecting rod
-Fr brake pad
-Fr brake lever remote adjuster
-Thermostat set
-Sprocket set
-Clutch guard (CFRP)
-Fr cowl under cover
-Fr winker hole plug
-Seat back rubber
-Lower cowl drain cap
-Harness modification set
-Fr/Rr maintenance stand
-Indoor machine cover

then again, if you can buy a 185K bike, you can probly build that kit
sure is a bad machine though

I forgot which magazine commented on this machine, but I agree with their assessment. This is a lazy attempt by Honda.  They are basically putting lights on a version of their racebike.  The new R1 is a much better transfer of MotoGp technology that is usable on the street.  And it's also $165K less.

I agree with Hooligan on this. Honda doesn't say what the difference in HP and RPM is between the race and street versions. Without pneumatic valves it has to be considerable. The R1 would be a better choice.  Dave

The new R-1 sure has been getting some good reviews.

I rode with a guy that bought one 2 weeks ago.  He was breaking it in on our trip and we even changed the oil in the parking lot of the hotel.

It is one nice ride.  He was swamped trying to get familiar with all the software options.  It was interesting to hear some of his observations like when in race mode it's very hard to ride smoothly because there is too much instantaneous throttle response and the engine braking is too severe to be smooth on a street ride.

It is a very nice bike, but I'm holding out for the S1000XR.  Rumor is that my local BMW dealer has one in the back that they are supposed to put together soon!
