1st, the relay for the coils is a great free mod, we all know the stock coils are fine, moving on -

I had a set of new Dyna coils and decided to install them on my FJ.

In addition to those, 8.5MM Accel wires with additional thermal covering was used, and they were difficult to install in the coils as they were designed to only accept 8mm.

With perseverance, it all worked out.

On the coils, a spark plug boot was sacrificed to make a isolater -

Here is the finished installation -

I was stunned at how much better the bike runs. I'll probably do the relay mod next.

Thanks,

Steve

The stock connector was soldered to generic terminals for a neat install -

Stock caps were used - why not?

Up top -

As mentioned, starts instantly now, low, mid range and upper end greatly compliments.

I credit the wires

Yes, it was extremely difficult fitting the fat wires into the stock caps.

But it can be done.

Maybe it's 8.8mm wire.... Here are the coils side by side -

What I started with - had to make some mods, as shown, but it's working well

I kept expecting to find the ACCEL coils somewhere, but they probably got swiped before I was able to buy the lot....
