You are a blessed man Alf.

Enjoy that new bike but cherish those beautiful girls.

When it comes time to check the valve clearances and reshim that 5 valve engine, let us know how it compares to our FJ's.

Well, after 6 months FZ owner, my impressions last summer in my hollydays travel (7.000 kms.) are in my web, FZ 750 section

Fun bike, but I think the better resume is this phrase of my web test, the day that I went to ride with 3 FJs:

"Passing to any of the  FJs from the FZ is like to get a truck: the road looks narrow and the feeling is that going slower and without much room to improve ... and then you check your references on the road. And it turns out that any of the FJs were about 40 km / h faster when braking at the same points. "

The FZ 750 feels so small compared to the FJ. And as much as I love my FJ's the FZ 750 motor is a real gem.

Nice bike. I put 35,000 k on one in 1986. Valve intervals are 45,000 k after initial check so much less frequent than the FJ. The problem with the five valve motor is that as the valve check is a big job most shops did not do them. Because many of them were never done , many burned out their valves. My good friend put 100,000 k on his and never had a lick of trouble. My FZR and two GTS 1000's have the same five valve motor. Displacement difference aside.

This one, with 23.000 kms on it when I bought it, had 16 under clearance valves. 200+ euros only in shims :bad:  I think it was due to previous owner used only to turn around only, not using properly the bike

The only bad thing that I´ve noted is that it lost the carb balance in around 3.000 kms.
