G'Day, Well i finally registered my bike as a solo. Here's how it happened.

Filled out the form, took the bike in with the shortened seat and no rear footpegs.

The office lady pressed some buttons on the keyboard, looked at my licence then said rego will be cheaper and if you haven't the proper seat you'll be fined  bye bye.

She didn't even come out to look at it. saves around $200 a year. I did however put my normal seat back on so it looks better. You'd hope the only time the police would

give it a second thought is if you actually had a passenger on board. heres a link to the paperwork.

Nice Ken, although it's a crock isn't it. Should be able to apply for single seater without modding the bike and THEN if you get caught with a passenger you get a big fine.

yeah thats my thoughts on it Ray, even confiscate the bike for awhile and more severe a penalty if you get caught again.

How long does the seat have to be to qualify Ken, and have you got a picture of it. I should really do that to the Suzuki, I've only had Chris on the back of it once and the bike didn't like it at all.  Either that or ride it more often, paying $400.00 odd each year to sit in a shed is stupid and a waste of money.

Bones,

Don't you guys have a "club rego" system up there that lets you have limited riding days on "vintage, classic, old :-) "  like your '79 X7 ?  In Vic, a vehicle only needs to 25yr old to qualify, and the rego costs are very low (I think under $100) but you can only use the vehicle for 90 days a year.
My pink striper qualifies next year :-)

Nahhh...Club rego in Queensland is very restrictive compared to other states. Our laws up here really restrict our freedom....you can`t even associate with Neanderthal bikies anymore! .....not that you can find any these days! :drinks:

Yeah, it's not worth it Arnie going to all that trouble to qualify. I want to be able to ride it when I want to, not be under any restrictions on when I can and can't.
