I am told they work better as long as they are the 4 brush design. Our older starters are 2 brush design. This is a 2 brush starter, see the screw on the side? All the other starters are coming out of China and are the 4 brush design. I will be upgrading my starter as well when I get an income going.

The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

Thank you FJM,
I gues I will order the Chinese starter for $55 inc shipping. At least I think it's Chinese. It's sold by a guy
in the US.  He has over thousand good sales.
I have to decide between the gl1000 and the fj1100 every time I ride. The FJ has been chosen today! Again.
Thanks Dave.

I have been running one for 2 years and no problem so far. It is a 4 brush unit.
