I'm impressed!
Love the grafted fairing. Really gives it a unique look!  :good2:

Those pipes look like Kawi Z1000?

Looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Well spotted Mr Firehawk they are indeed Kawasaki Z1000. Not a fan of 4 into 1 and whereas this is not quite 4 into 4 more like 4 2 4   I do like the look of them especially from the rear.

Started to think about the paint today and what graphics to put on to brake up the block colour and add a bit of interest. The main colour is to be Triumph Pimento Red, It's a colour that goes back to the seventies and it's the colour I painted my Ford Pop (will find a photo).  So back to the FJ the bits that are red in the photo are going to be gold like the front forks, the wheels have polished rims & centre rib but the rest will be painted the same gold.  In the last photo just looking to see how the side plate clears exhaust and things.

This is (was) my Ford Pop started building it when I was fifteen got it on the road just after my seventeenth birthday. The photo was taken at the NEC Birmingham

Hi Russ,
Not sure if my reply to the Pm went through....here is my project.  The shock/linkage stuff is on page 6.  I lost bunch of photos messing with flickr but the ones you are looking for are there.

Unbelievably the photo of my Ford Pop (above a bit) and the photo of the wheel show totally different colours yet they are both Triumph Pimento Red. Admittedly the photo of the Pop is thirty something years old now, think I was eighteen or nineteen when it was at the NEC ... happy days

hi Russ,

just stumbled through your thread and hooked in - just love the fairing; great work!

Maybe I should try to get something like this, hoping our beloved TÜV-guys wouldn't care about...

looking forward to see the finished bike.

btw, I am a little bit envious about the biking area you live in; been through Shrewsbury recently on the way to Pwllheli and loved it.

Hi to all who have been following my build, sorry I have not posted anything for some months now but have had a bit of a crap time with my depression and done nothing to the project  :negative:. Hopefully that is in the past now and very soon I can get on with the FJ :good:. When any significant progress has happened I will post it. Thanks for all the comments so far I really do appreciate them, if anyone passing needs a coffee you are more than welcome to call in.  Russ  :drinks:

Just caught up to this thread. Don't frequent the Mod threads very often as I can't afford it, nor have the facilities or skill (yet?). But Russ you got me hooked.   :good:

I wish I was your neighbour.  Mind you, you probably would end up wishing I wasn't, as you'd never get me out of your shed! But a steady supply of tea and biscuits.....   (popcorn)

That dual headlight mod I find (like many others) is just fantastic.  Does that fit to the stock FJ bracketry?  That would be something that might start my "addiction"....   :wacko1:

I will have to visit these threads more often.  I can just hear the Mrs. now, "You're buying what!?"   :ireful:

Well this crap stuff called depression really did take a turn for the worst, must be 12 months since doing anything on anything not just the two fj's ... But summer is here and I hope to get the fjr1 finished and on the road  :good2:  One good thing of leaving it 12 month at least the paint is hard enough to flat n buff.
