Finished up all the wiring this weekend, and tidied it all up.  :mail1:

I knew that I was going to have to extend the wires for the thermocouple that I was using in the tap-tower.
I checked the resistance at room temperature, before extending the wires, just to make sure it didn't change the reading.
I got 11,720 ohms.

I again used part of the harness that I acquired from work.
This was part of the radio wiring, and had nice thin wires in it (slightly bigger gauge than the original thermocouple wires.)

My next-door neighbor is a sales rep for MSC-Supply. One day he brings me this sack of 3M heat-shrink tubing, and a box of butt-connectors, along with a whole box of various fasteners and electrical stuff.
He said it was a gift for helping him with his son's dirt-bike.................Gotta love free supplies! :yahoo:

Thermocouple will read the temperature inside the tap-tower.

Finished wiring the plug-box. I used some hot-glue to keep the wires from being pulled, and to seal the box.

Sealed up the pass-through hole for all the wiring with silicone.

Tidied up the back where all the wires come through.

Wiring will enter the door through this little plastic cap in the bottom.

Verified that resistance of extended thermocouple was the same at room temperature.

Wired the temp controllers.

Time to put the inner door back on.

TA-DA! :yahoo:

Thermocouple for the compressor control pokes out a tiny hole in the door.

Had to make one small, quick tweak to the wiring.
I realized that the digital temp controllers do not supply power to the relays. They are merely a pass-through connection on the load circuit.

Works like a champ!

Next up: Plumbing!
We are getting close............... :drinks:

It's hard enough to leave the shed already, let alone with one of those installed in there. Great job. Thanks for sharing.

I'm slightly closer to finishing this project.

Received some more supplies.
The faucets and shanks that I bought came with 5-foot beer lines.
After doing some research, mainly regarding dispensing draft-beer at altitudes higher than 5,000 feet. (my house sits at about 5,600 feet)
I concluded that I need longer beer lines.
I bought some extra, to extend them to 7-feet.

Using one of my hole-saws, I punched out the other two holes in the tap-tower.

All Stainless Steel elbow shank.

Two shanks installed.

Slightly modified the foam insulator to clear the shanks.

New Perlick 630SS Stainless Steel faucets.

Faucets mounted.

My good friend John gave me a couple of empty keg shells that he wasn't doing anything with. (to trade in, so I don't have to pay the keg deposits)
Test fitting them inside.
Two kegs will fit comfortably. I am going to have to move the tower blower tube to the direct-center of the back wall, (an easy fix, since I didn't glue any of the tube joints. they are just friction fitted)
in order to squeeze (3) 5-gallon kegs in there, without cutting into the door.

I am still deciding on what two kegs I want to start out with.  :unknown:
But I'm getting really close!  :drinks:

I am hoping to have 2 kegs chilling in there by the end of next week.  :drinks:

I am waiting on my gas line, and I need to score a couple more fittings...........Then the kegs.

What's the shelf life of the beer once you open the kegs? 3 kegs at 5 gallons each...wowzer, that's a lot.

Nice job Alan.

Had a contractor friend of mine who salvaged a multi keg system out of a bar demolition he was working on..

He ended up having to remodel the bathroom serving his game room to put in a urinal. Great idea.
In the olden days, I slept on his floor many nights....

What's the shelf life of the beer once you open the kegs?

Anywhere from 3 to 6 months depending on the freshness of the beer when I actually receive it.  :scratch_one-s_head:

Mate, just a thought, but is the rack the kegs will sit on strong enough for two full kegs?
