Niagara spring FJ clinic, May 16th.

Upon closer inspection, i saw 3 cracks instead of two, very uniform and more like an expansion joint, since the 3 are exact same.
So with the help of our FJ guru who linked me with a shop through JV in Hamilton. The gentlemen at Ultimate Cycle confirmed these rotors as having expansion joints. Sorry for crying wolf, feeling a little dumb so to speak but in my defense i'm used to cross drilled ones not vented.


I look at those potentially embarrassing moments when I have them, like this: "If that's the worst thing that happens this week, I'm laughing."

Nope!  For the last few weeks when I try to switch to the "Classic" google maps it gives me the "lite" version. :-( 
The new version is better than the "lite", but not by much.
Wish they'd have left it alone.

Maybe we can start up a new thread somewhere else about GPS and Bluetooth geeky stuff.

All I know is I did manage to get my route to the clinic loaded up. Just have to hit GO on Saturday morning.

BTW, I'll be bringing what I have of high output LEDs to replace #194 bulbs in the gauge cluster - white and blue versions.
Also some relays with socket harnesses, fuse holders and what ever else I have left until I restock. Just ask.

You mean the red 2 conductor that "Movenon" is holding in Reply #9? Nope, nothing like that. It's likely heavy gauge. I will see what I can bring though in case yours is compromised.
If all else fails and it's burning out, we'll remove it and hard wire you until a proper connector can be found. That's safer than running with a connector that is building up heat.

I will have to cancel.   :mad:  The bike is pissing gas from all four carb overflow tubes still.  Got everything together Tues evening when it started.  I know why it did - but I can't bring myself to tell you as it is sooooo humiliatingly stupid.   :shout:  Had to go back to work Wed night for my 3x12 shift but managed to pull them off and disassemble and clean and reassemble.  Got them on the bike yesterday, fiddled with it this morning, and started it up to no avail.

It's been a complete clusterfuck all week.   :dash2:  As I wasn't expecting this I had no bits to replace any o-rings and was hoping for the best.  I did everything by "the book" (both the Haynes manual and the instructions from the Files section).  The last time I tried this four years ago, the same thing happened and I had to take them in and get them serviced.  I have no luck when it comes to these (or skill?).  :blush:

I guess I could still come out in my car, and stand in the corner.   :sorry:

A note for Mr. Wagar - you won't have to bring your bushing puller for the engine mounts.

You should come out anyway. It's about the people as much as about the bikes.
O-rings - I will see if I can locate the bags of O-rings I bought when my carbs were in and out so much I was told to mount them with Velcro.
I bought about 10 of each kind I needed, at industrial supply.

Well I made it home safe and sound.  After being up for 24 hrs it was time to reluctantly go home.  Thanks John for being a great host.  I learned how to pull out the clutch and find that redundant wire circlip, the basics of balancing carbs (when they don't leak!), and how to laugh at a Buell.  :blum1: (jus' kiddin'  :mocking:)

The shop and driveway looked like a used bike superstore. 

Meeting all the guys was refreshing.  Nice to talk to people who "get it".  Now I'm re-energized to tackle my "issues" and get that bike on the road.

Met many fellow FJ enthusiasts & new friends  :drinks:  Beautiful day for the clinic and ride,  made excellent time on the way home thanks to HemiBob  :good:

What a great day!!

It was great to meet and ride with you Leaper. You 'll have to join in on the next rides/clinics. It is always great to see everyone again, have some shop talk, solve some maintenance issues, and get in a good ride.

Dan and i had a good ride back to Eastern Ontario. A big shout out to Hemi for some great navigation through the GTA...you should lead more often.   :i_am_so_happy:

Thank you JV, for the awesome day. .. an awesome time yet again. The lunch, your shop, the company, the ride, and , of course, the coffee!   :morning2: :rofl:
