question for folks with RPM exhausts

well i just received my stainless/cf exhaust from RPM
it looks to be all the quality and bling i was hoping for (and hot damn that box was light!!!- hard to believe there was a complete system in there)
my only issue is that the RPM emblem on the silencer is kinda a billboard
has anyone tried to remove it?
i was thinking the usual hairdryer/heat gun but, then i started thinking- this thing gets hot- the adhesive is probably heat resistant
this is nothing against Randy and his business, i just wish he would have chosen an emblem that was just a bit more subtle

Randy, if you see this , please dont be offended

You COULD paint "10,000" above it. Subtle change from advertising to statement.

Blimey, just taken a peek on RPM....it's not exactly subtle.  :bomb:

I'm sure it's an amazing exhaust, but that would put me off tbh.

Meant as constructive feedback btw..  :good2:

How is this any different than what Kerker, SuperTrap, D&D, Cobra, Vance&Hines, etc, etc do?

Exactly. I have the RPM exhaust with megaphone, the logo is no larger than the Yoshi on my ZX1000.

a bit of difference between the manufacturer and the retailer,  id think

I think I'd see if you could get a replacement sticker first just in case. Then remove the original one. If you screw it up, you can replace the sticker.

I peeled the stickers off of a Cobra F1 muffler before. No big deal other than the aluminum under the sticker was cleaner than the rest.

It's preference, but in my view it needs to be about 25% of the size it is...it's a great looking exhaust otherwise, but subtle the logo ain't.

I like subtle, not great big logo's, but it's a moot point because I haven't got one and won't be getting one.

That said, the thread was started around the logo, and feedback is feedback...if most like the logo then all is fine and dandy.  (popcorn)

fjfool

yup, that mofo is stuck on there tight! something bad will happen if i try to remove it
i know the Yosh style badge would cost way too much for a small production run for a FJ specific product but, it is smaller and a bit more subtle imo

I agree its a bit big but it is also arguably the best system currently available.

The easiest way to solve the logo issue is to contact hindle (or watch for closeouts on ebay..) and pick up a standard issue can. (Hindle has several options and most only have a vinyl sticker for a logo.) You can keep the RPM can as a spare or sell it to someone else. I have purchased several hindle cans for my race bike over the years and hindle makes it fairly easy to fit up several options. The hindle cans are pretty much universal, The key things to look for are the shape, length, and inlet diameter. It really does not matter what the add says it for as you do not need the midpipe.

Obviously this is expensive, but how much do you hate the logo...

Another option is to drill out the rivets on the end piece and rotate it 90 degrees. This will turn the logo in toward the wheel and if you paint it black it will not be all that noticeable.

thanks fan,
the rivit thing- maybe i will wait till the muffler needs repacking
i really dont hate it that bad
i also agree it is the best system availible
i got the system and the features i was looking for so i am happy with the purchase - i was just wondering if anyone had removed the sticker

Possibly hold off installing the muffler and contact Randy about maybe getting one without the badge attached. Send the one you have back to Randy for an exchange.
