I am rebuilding the front forks for a 1990 FJ1200 and I have new Race Tech springs (FRSP S3234100, RT FRK SPR 31.7x340 1.0kg) and Gold Valve emulators.  My Dad bought these parts long ago and I have no installation instructions but I did figure it all out but am unclear on one little detail.  Compression holes in the damper rod.  Do I have to drill new/additional ones? Or is that just for anti-dive system of the '84-'87 model years?  Thanks, all info and/or tips are greatly appreciated.

This will probably help get you started. http://www.fjowners.com/index.php?topic=1911.0
Read the thread then open up the PDF file in the first post.  On Assembly make sure you get the "tulip" on facing the correct direction.  Also on top of your dampener tube make sure the valve (vanes) are at full open.  You will cut the old adjusting "D" rod back as it will be no longer needed. The holes are cross drilled. There is 3 sets of holes. 5/16" drill bit.
