i just got two yoshimira slip on mufflers as a gift from a friend for swapping a engine out on his fzr1000, and am looking to run them on my 86 fj for some sound and weight reduction, the pipes holes are big enough but the way they would set would put them in the chain on one side, i was wondering if anyone else ran two slip ons on their set up and if they sell like an extension pipe made for our bikes to just slip on the mufflers on the stock pipes to put the slip ons out a little and straight or if i would have to take the bike and pipes up to a muffler shop or something to have them bend some pipe for me....

i know it may sound dumb alot of you are prolly like just buy a 4 into 1 header and only run one, but im broke and looking to do it the rigged up cheap way lol

Unfortunately this ^^ is what you will have to do...
Although being the right diameter, the FZR connector pipes (pipes between the collector box and mufflers) will not fit on the FJ.

A muffler shop with a mandrel bender will make quick work out of this.. Might as well do both sides, that way you can get both muffler cans mounted where you want them. While you're doing this, cut the bracket off your stock pipe and have the shop weld it on your left side connector pipe so you can use the rubber bumper that cushions your center stand from hitting the pipe.

...or keep searching FleaBay for some FJ specific slipons. They come up from time to time.
I've heard some bad reports on Delkevic slip ons not fitting correctly: http://www.fjowners.com/index.php?topic=13050.60

thanks for the info, i think i may have found a friend that is going to bend some pipe for me, but im only takeing off the fj mufflers to swap for the yoshi mufflers, not switching out the collector box or using the fzr connector pipes and dont really want to cut on the stock pipe so i can switch it right back if i dont like it or for some reason need too lol

Ok, but be careful when that center stand snaps up...you *will* crease your connector pipe.
There is a reason that bumper is there.

ok thank you very much for that heads up!!! i will take that in to consideration when i get around to doing it.

Glad to help. The bracket that holds the bumper can be easily made with some 3/4" strap steel, 1.5" long and bend the ends. Drill a hole in it for the bumper and weld away.
That way you don't have to cut up your oem muffler.
