Just to back you up on your decision, I am running the ME880´s on my ´86 and am not pleased with the wet performance, it´s frightening in the wet almost to the point of feeling like the roads were icy when they are only wet.  You will get good mileage from them though.
I think I can picture your driving conditions as I mainly drive in Iceland and Scandinavia

Hi guys Ive been looking to get a new rear tyre for my fj 3xw and came across the metzler me880 marathon .have any of you's run these tyres on your fj's ?

I had them on my recently stolen FJ. Had no problems with them whatsoever. Can't comment on mileage as I hadn't had them long before the bike went away. I've today just been up to my local bike shop and ordered another set for my replacement FJ. Prior to the that I ran Dunlops. 15k klm from rear and 17k from front. I think they were the Sportmax.
