After yesterday's injury I was wondering who else has bled working on their FJ's.

Ed let me know if my temporary exile is for the entire forum.
I'm not here to cause problems.

theLeopad,

Probably everybody here has shed some blood, if not on FJs, then on some other bikes.
Hang tough, and this too shall pass.    :drinks:   I'm just a newbie here, myself.

Does spearing the cat with the clutch push-rod count as drawing blood?
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

Bones

When I did the fork valves the other week, after putting the wheel back on I thought I might give the discs a touch up with sandpaper by spinning the wheel while holding my hand against the disc. (Bad idea.) Spinning the wheel backwards, the disc somehow grabbed my left hand and jammed the middle finger between the disc and fork leg.

The slots in those wavy discs are like knives and put a fair cut in the finger, probably needed stitches, but we're men, we're tough, so just put a bandage on it and went back to work. It's not uncommon for me when I'm tinkering to shout out to the missus and say ''I'm Bleeding" which the reply will be, how bad, and don't drip it on the carpet.

No worries Stu, but it might pay to have a packet of band aids handy, just in case. :empathy3:

Probably not, but you really should get points for "improving the environment". Maybe a tax credit or something.

Brian, you're not exiled, temp or permanently. I was just trying to tell you "Stop talking about rebuilding your motor".  Resume posting as needed ...
Did you actually marf your finger, as shown?  That didn't look good!  :empathy2:

Learned early by jumping on the back of a Honda XR75 at age 10.  Burned a deep oval on my right calf where it touched the hot muffler........  yup, learned not to wear shorts too.

Kinda a rite of passage , you must touch the exhaust headers to make sure all cylinders are firing . :pardon:

That's how your fingerprints get burned into your pipes .  :rofl2:
