...I'm just waitin' on some friends.

:morning1:

Drinking my coffee, anticipating the arrival of Fred (aviationfred) and Scott (FJScott). Then we depart for the great white north of Deland, Florida to meet up with Jeff (CodyNKR's significant other, can't recall his screen name) for a self-cooked pancake breakfast at DeLeon Springs State Park.

My place was centrally located, so we decided to gather here.

Most of yesterday was spent preparing for this event; valve cover seal replacement, mount toll transponder under the fairing, oil/filter change, brake & clutch fluid replacement, chain lube. Still have a small oil leak, which might possibly be the valve cover gasket. Last night's shakedown ride also revealed a tappy valve or two. Will investigate further...

An-E-Way...

Hopefully we'll have a couple of pictures to share.  Ooop.. The coffee's kicking in:  :dance2:

I made it back to The Villages from the Florida mini-rally. I had an awesome day riding with Scott, (FJScott), Steve (Steve_in_Florida) and Jeff. Scott and I met Steve in Orlando and rode up to Deland. Jeff was already on the road and met us after a 10 minute wait. We got underway headed to the Old Sugar Mill Pancake house in De Leon Springs State park. We had about an hour and a half wait for a table, so we took in the sights and played tourist checking out the spring and historical facts of the area. They called us to our table under the name Dan Skippy.... :pardon: For all that have met him you get 1 guess on who reserved the table. A table with a pancake griddle in the center was found. Orders were placed and the best pancakes I have ever eaten were cooked by ourselves.  :nyam2: With our belly's full, we headed east, trying to dodge the rain showers for the Atlantic coast and Daytona. We arrived just a bit north in Ormond beach and rode down A1A to Daytona. My first time there, so it was pretty fascinating to me. We ended up at the Daytona Speedway for our final stop of the day. We all headed out, and made it back to The Villages without any more rain :good2:. I hope Steve, Jeff and Scott made there destinations without any of the wet stuff.

Another FJ rally draws to a close.  If you were not here, you were talked about.  Great to meet up with fellow FJ people.  Unlike some people, my ride did not include triple digit speeds.  Not too much rain, good times

Was great to see and ride with Fred,Steve and Jeff again.
We had a little rain but it did not dampen our spirits or our speeds.
Kookaloo and beyond!

Oh, Fred was sporting yet another new windscreen. I think he needs an intervention.

I have come to the conclusion that everyone I've met personally from this forum is REAL QUALITY!  :drinks:

If we talked about you in your absence, it was nothing but good; probably mod-envy!

(OBVIOUSLY the only one who DIDN'T exceed the speed limits. I never do.)

"Other horsepower". I like it.

Very sorry you were unavailable. You were missed.

Fred mentioned that one of our new members, Brandan (Bluezero) was eager to join, but also unavailable. Next time, Buddy!

..... Steve, It looks like everyone had a great time.
So close [location] yet so far [back issues] for me.

Great pic's of the bikes under the Daytona Speedway sign.
Steve, it would be nice, if you could plan another mini-FJ rally again soon......maybe my back would allow me to attend.

Jeff,
This little gathering came together rather spontaneously, around Fred's holiday schedule. I told the guys about your bike, and the ride we took down to St. Pete.

One of the guys from "down under" might be visiting a relative north of St. Pete during the spring, so maybe we can get together then.

Fred also mentioned a future desire to knock off a bucket list item: Visit Key West.

Drop me a line if you feel up to riding. I'll go to the pancake place ANYTIME!

In fact, I just looked, and the Dade Battle Reenactment is *THIS WEEKEND*. http://www.dadebattlefield.com/Flyers/2015%20Flyer%20Color.pdf

More info: http://www.dadebattlefield.com/

Would you be up to riding there? Maybe we can find a stripper to massage your back?

Always tryin' to help my fellows!

Steve
