Home safe. It was a very short rally for me, but great to see everyone none the less.

Record breaking in what way?

Departed Boone about 8 AM - got poured on for a couple of miles near Johnson City, then rained on again around Corbin, KY for a little while. Nothing serious. Got to Louisville around 4:30.

Awesome Rally. Maybe the best weather we've ever had in Boone; definitely some of the best rides I've ever had. Pics when I finally get home...another 350 miles to go.

Okay, couldn't wait until I got home.

This is how we start fires at the ECR. Thermite? Feh.

I got home about 3p. Nice ride, all back roads, no troubles.  Within an hour of home I came close to a performance award, settled for a warning.

Great time as always..  Possibly some record breaking best weather ever.

I got a couple pics to post later

We're (zwartie and I) sitting having a beer in Dubois, PA after riding just over 600 miles on the way home. We had torrential rain for 20 minutes on 219 creating small silt laden rivers across the tight switch backs. Also did a gravel road while detouring on the blueridge pwy. 219 has some great twisty sections and found a gem in #72 with great pavement and twisties. A long day filled with great roads. We have about another 300 miles to go! Great times at the rally

Smola67

I had a great time and so happy my family made it up on Saturday.
The weather was amazing and the riding was fantastic. I wish we could do it more often.  :drinks:

Hey Rob I passed you guys yesterday morning around 8a, did you see me?  Highway 18 just west of Sparta, I was headed east.  Waved but didn't realize it was you two until you were basically right beside me.

Good meeting you guys, hope you can come back.  :good2:  have a safe rest of the trip home.

Bill_Rockoff

I made it home around 2pm, with hardly a drop of rain until I got to my actual hometown.

Great time, MAN it was great to see everyone.  Andrew and I rode with Rock a bit on Saturday, it has been *years* since I got to do that.

Photos to follow eventually (slow hotel internet.)
Reg Pridmore yelled at me once

Funny, I did see a guy riding a bike like yours but didn't think it would be you Dan. We had a great day today, arriving home at 8:45pm. 2173 miles round trip and worth every bit of it. Got to get back. Soon.

You carry that on your FJ? Thermite is instant ignition and packs light, and no need for a power cord...

This is 4 shots of damn hot starting in 5 pounds or less... A pound of molten iron is no match for a pile of fire wood.
