I'm happy to report that even though Mark was "marking" his territory with oil everywhere we parked...AND we all shared a hotel suite...For the record, I never saw the crack.  Just sayin'.   :shok:

Does that mean you were the little spoon?  :shok:

    NO spoons were harmed (or performed) in the course of three days and nights of our Mini-Rally.   :good2:

Capn', you have added another arrow to your quiver ( photographer, colourful and wonderfully descriptive trip chronicler and much more we probably don't know about) with some great wit. Very entertaining, keep 'em rolling.

Are you a red drinker?  I don't want to influence your response, nor am I biased, but we do have two catagories of wine here, red, and cat's piss, choose your poison.
I do enjoy the odd white, but red is where it's at in Oz.
Our flagship red is the "Grange Hermitage" which has a staggering cellar life of 20-50 years and on average, doesn't reach it's peak until about 15 years. It is not even released until it is 5 years old.
First vintage sells for about $60,000 per bottle and "peak, drink it now" vintages from the late '80s can be had for as little as $600 per bottle. The perfect drop to wash the fish and chips down with.

I just checked the cellar, I seem to be out of them.

It was a great ride -- all was pretty close to perfect. As Ron mentioned the Thurs- Saturday rain postponed Sunday - Tuesday and as it turned out perfect weather for the FJ -- cool but not too cool.  Apart from a little fog on Day 2 that soon burned off after the wine tasting-- Sunny and Warm.  And the Prime-tri-tip sandwich --- YES-- IT WAS THE BEST I HAVE EVER EVER HAD.  no joke.

Thanks Ron for the write up and pics.

As Ron mentioned - my front tire was put to the test and quite frankly I was chancing it a bit too much on the coast curves but it wasn't well -- it made it home.  I wasn't sure who was in a worst position --me with a worn front or Mark with a slick rear.

Just some more pics - I had most of the same stuff --- the last one wasn't done on this trip but a few days before Paso on a lone run to the Salton Sea -- I just put it in because I like it

Awesome photos and ride report from all three of you makes me long for the California coast. I know you all have some of the best motorcycle roads in the country. I guess I have to wait for spring summer and fall to get my twisty riding fix.

This is what awaited me today when I left work.

I'm not the fastest FJ rider, I am 'half-fast', the fastest slow guy....

Wow, very cool ride and report.  Great roads with scenery during the day, nice food and refreshments at night discussing the days ride, does it get any better ?
