even with good gloves my hands were painfully cold since the "fairing" does not protect them at all.

That's on an '89 with no risers.

So, after less than two weeks you've decided that the FJ is not for you?

Tidy little profit, if you get your price.

Heated grips would probably solve the cold hand issue if that is the only concern you have with the FJ.

Most of the bikes I've owned were "naked" or "standard" and I think the FJ is about a "chin fairing" away from that general configuration.  It is a great "fair weather" bike bone stock.  And so I am keeping one of mine pretty much that way.  The other one will be a long-hauler and will have the wind protection suited to the task.

I am a little concerned that it wont be comfortable for 2 up. And wont have good protection though.

I ride 2-up on the '92 FJ with my wife regularly and although maybe not as comfy as an ST, she's good for about a 400 km day of riding. I have a Corbin Gunfighter & Lady seat and a Givi V46 top case with a backrest. She's even been known to nod-off on the back of the bike so it must be fairly comfortable for her. As far as wind protection goes, I have a laminar lip on the windscreen which pushes the air up and makes for cleaner air flow. Check out this link: http://www.laminarlip.com/fj12.php. That's my FJ at the top of the page.

Zwartie, I'm looking to add a smoke 'Lip but have the OEM clear screen now. What brand is your screen?

I believe it is the stock screen that the previous owner had painted the inside black so that it would have more of a "smoked" look to it. I've touched up the inside a couple times myself as it tends to get scratched by my Garmin mount now and again.
