Sorry Frank, I should have known it'd be a no no to deviate from FJ talk.  I bet you know more about modifying the FJ than I do, yet I'll never tell you that what you say about it is bullshit.

For the record, my wife and I don't eat GM maize, and for good reason, we've been studying nutrition for years now.  We're getting old, so it matters. We buy organic/Non-GMO from Whole Foods Market.

My original point was that sometimes writers are just as ignorant as their readers, and it takes one in the know to know when it's true. And it's also true that no one can always do it.

Sorry I wasn't more clear...  I'm no expert and was merely using the data I had to baffle.  I'm an experienced bullshitter (ex-Oficer from Nuclear Navy), so please don't take me too seriously.  You have well founded opinions and I really just try to make sure I don't die wondering. 

Do what you like, subscribe to the reality that works for you, and live in peace my virtual friend.  Most importantly, keep the rubber on the road and ride that FJ like you stole it.

Sorry Frank, that I misjudged you.  My bad!  You're another man of humility after all, but I like eating crow, I tell you! 

Me too, USN that is, but I was an enlisted, that was treated like an officer, no TAD for me.  I was an Aircrewman, complete with flightsuit, little gold wings, hazardous duty pay and everything. We were the mission! I used to go riding with our squadrons Instructor Pilot, a lieutenant. He had that first Honda 1000R (gear driven cam) 13K redline, if I remember correctly. At that time I only had an XJ750MK, he dusted me, my throttle buried.  Also party at his place while he played slowhand on his stratocaster.  I'm glad there were officers like that.  We had some cool ones alright! One actually had a Stainless Steel DeLorean.  Oh yeah, fond memories indeed.  When they came out with "Top Gun"  I thought they used us as their inspiration.   Nah, I'm sure it was Navy wide!  For sure!

I hope to meet you and have a chance to tell you about Tijuana, the Junior Officers (real cool fucks all in all) and the Enlisted Nucs (same guys, just no money for college), preferably over a few beers.  A couple of the JOs and maybe 20 E/NCO types would take the place by storm (at least in our minds)...  guys lost wedding rings, wound up tattooed, etc.  Wouldn't have missed it.  I sealed my coolness when I was taken to Captain's Mast...

Be careful about Whole Foods Wallet Market.....  We have found that their version of "organic" is not always our definition of the same...... These days if you don't grow it - you can't actually know what you are eating.  We have switched to buying produce at local farmer's markets which are thankfully plentiful in our neck of the woods...

For example: When Whole Foods sells "Free Range Chicken" at $10 per pound (vs. regular hormone free chicken at $3 per pound) you envision you are buying a chicken that roamed the barnyard happily clucking and pecking away at insects...not so..
To qualify for the "Free Range" label designation the grower need only to give the hens access to a open door for 2 hours a day. The chickens are raised in enclosed captivity spending their days under UV grow lamps, very few birds venture outside...if any....yet they are considered "Free Range"
For that luxury, you are charged an additional premium of $7 per pound.

My point is this (just like ethnol) give the consumers a choice to buy,  or not to buy....some don't give a shit.
I do...I'll let others be the guinea pigs, or their children, or their children's children...not me.

Therefore, the only way to give the consumers a *real* choice to buy, or not to buy, is to require clear labeling on all gmo products.

That's what I want, and I don't think that's a unreasonable demand.
