Offer to settle for $1950 w/o the "total" so you can avoid the salvage title. It might help if you get tagged by another cager.

In Iowa, if you buy back, the title stays in your name, and therefore is not branded.
I totaled a car due to a deer hit several years ago, and when I traded it (after repairing it myself), as far as the dealer knew, that all it was , was a high mileage used car.

My FJ came with a salvage title when I purchased it. In Kansas a salvage title does not effect registration or getting a title transferred. So there will be no change...
