new guy on Gold Caost

Hey all been a rider for a long time and have been riding and still ride ( for now ) a gs1000
but have just picked up a 86 FJ1200 im about to do a restore on.

Will be picking brains and asking stupid questions so bear with me

cheers mate dont pic her up till saturday so wont know more till she gets here will go from thier i do bikes all the time but for some reason never done one of these old girls

Looks like an imported model going by the long rear guard. My understanding is Aussie derived models have a short rear guard.

if i wasent working today id go get her but alas i am. have to take the trailer any way as another bike to be picked up at same time.

I seen this one advertised I believe. Do you get it for $750 or did you strike a deal.

did a deal mate bought both bikes as a mate wanted the xv250 so $500 happy with that

Hey Warren, welcome to the forum! It just occurred to me when I took a blast around town today that the FJ runs like a 500 lb. bumble bee rather than a motorcycle.  :yahoo:. Your gonna love it man. Put a few miles on it before you tear it down. You'll definitely want to finish sooner.
