Ok, thanks folks...

I just blocked 17 rooms for us (via credit card)...arrival: Thursday 5/28 2015  departure: Sunday 5/31 2015

For folks who want to come in early, no problem...I think I'll arrive on Tuesday to prerun Monitor and Sonora Pass.

It was necessary to block those rooms now, because the MeadowCliff fills up with other groups quite early.

We will hold these rooms for the FJ Owners group until May 8th 2015 at which such time they will be released so my credit card won't be charged.

I will be sure to post many reminders next year on the need for confirming these reservations

Oh, this is gonna be fun...if the weather gods cooperate.

So, if we have another WCR like this year were there are 38 people in attendance, is this going to be big enough?

If some of the rooms are single king beds that does not allow for multiple people sharing a room.

Is there other lodging in the area?

That will suck having people at two different places...

Okay, so I just booked my room for my wife and I. There are now a total of 5 single bed rooms left, which I am sure Frank & Diane, as well as Derek and Donna will require one each. Plus there was rumor that Craig might bring Dawn again and Andy might bring Jen to the next one, so that leaves just one single bed room. Not sure if Ed is going to bring the trailer again but if not, that would cover the final single bed room for couples. Baldy had mentioned plans on bringing his girlfriend, what about Marsh & Klav and their significant others?

So, if anyone else has plans on bringing their significant other, they need to grab up a room or they are going to have to share with others.

So, that leaves 11 rooms with two beds. Those rooms are double occupancy at the $89 plus the additional 12% rate and if more than two stay in a room the price goes up.

I believe she told me the rooms with two beds are queen size beds.

I just revised the reservations...I got the entire 20 room complex...all they had....other lodgings are 8 miles south in Walker or 3 miles north in Topaz.

Of course folks who bring their portable homes...like Ed, can stay in the RV section.

We're in, booked a single room (one queen), kings are all gone, some rooms left with double queens for sharing. We're coming in a day early again, Wednesday May 27th. Can't wait!  :yahoo:

looks like our routes will be pretty much easy to plan as all the roads lead east and circle around  -- I don't see any short routes which is ok with me.  All sounds good and I also look forward to it.

This place has a large number of cabins. Reservations for 2015 can be made after November 15th. 2014

17 Comfort cabins w/bathroom/showers, 5 of those have no Air conditioning. Sleeps 3 to 6

6 Traditional cabins with out bathrooms. Sleeps 3 to 6

2 four person cabins with no bathrooms. Sleeps 2 to 4

1 Ranch cabin w/bathroom, Sleeps 4 to 8

To all you 2015 WCR Hopefuls, the arrangement these guys have sounds good to me as well with lots of flexibility on pricing.  I'm also concerned the current place is probably too small and maybe a bit remote.  It looks like 20 rooms and a bunch of RV space http://www.meadowcliff.com/resortmap.html, so I think we could not have fit the 2014 WCR in there and we'd need to split the group.  If we'd need to split up, I'd rather find out if we have alternatives...  what do you guys think?

Does anyone know of a campground arrangement up toward Twain Harte (I think) that has a similar range of options for lodging and it pretty big as I recall.  I don't remember the name, but it came up a couple years ago as a rally location maybe.  Or maybe I went there as a scout or ??  Randy - maybe it was your suggestion in the first place?

If we can find something like what the Black Hills Rally have setup, I'd like to hear about it.  One thought would be to move the whole thing to Graegle and ride around in the Sierra Butte...  A nice thing there is you're at altitude and enjoying cool air most of the time.  Ramos - you probably ride up there on occasion?  I think the Graegle area has lodging options we could consider as well.  There's the Gray Eagle Lodge (http://www.grayeaglelodge.com/cabins/), but that might be getting pricey.

Howdy Frank,

I have been through that part of the state although not in some time.  The Pine Crest area used to pretty good, I think.  I am usually involved with the riding and less with accommodations but I will check out the area(s) you are discussing.

With the fires raging through the far northern California mountains it looks as if the riding in this area will be on hiatus so I will get down there over the next few weeks if I can.

Perhaps I will stop in Oakdale and see if the gentleman there can get away from his shop and go for a ride.

I will keep everyone posted on the possibilities.

Ride safe,

Mike Ramos.

My original post was going to be  bad news as I went to register my senior daughter and found out graduation ceremonies are June 5 --- and knowing memorial day is usually the last weekend in May --- and we go the next that put me out of luck in attending the rally ( note - I had issues with this once before and I could get none of you Kookaloo people to even get close to telling me I could miss the graduation) BUT---- I WAS all wrong as Memorial Day is always the last MONDAY ( which I know but normally the above does apply as well ) and  thus bottomline -- I can GO.  I can GO ---- ya I can GO --- hope that doesn't spoil anyones plans.....
