First week of June my wife and I are going out to Travis AFB to see our son. It's only 30 minutes from Napa. Never been there. Can anyone suggest a don't-miss winery tour?

Although I live in Napa, I don't know much about wine. The wife does, so I'll ask her for a few suggestions.

You must check out the Coppola Winery.
There's alot of cool movie stuff on display. He even has a "Tucker" upstairs.
(Have no idea how he got it up on the second floor, theres no elevator)

I did a Limo tour some years ago, but I forgot where else we stopped.
Mundavi was one I think?

They were all amazing  :good:

What kind of wine do you like?  Are you into more picnic or more service oriented experience.  Outdoors vs indoors?  Budget (the limo deals can be pretty good if you buy cheap)?

I have absolutely no idea.  Totally new at this. It's my wife who is into wine, not me. (I have no idea why! haha)
I thought that you showed up at a winery and they gave you a tour and some samples, like a brewery or something.
What's this about limos?

Not a wine snob myself, but I would also suggest the Santa Rosa area, just a little bit up the road on 101. I stay there a lot for work, the area is covered in wineries. There is a LOT of money in town. The Russian River Brewery is there, they're famous for Pliney the Elder. The road out of town following the Russian River to the coast is supposed to be a beautiful drive.
Something else for the menfolk: between Travis and Napa is Sears Point Raceway, a pretty well-known track. I don't know which overweening corporate entity has the current sponsorship, and thus naming rights, but it was also called Infineon Raceway for a while.  HTH.
(Try a Google Maps search, with the "businesses" tab turned on, I've found a lot of stuff that way.)

Given your goal is pleasuring the wife (great goal), I'd look for some places with nice views and worry less about the wine...  it's all going to be worthy of a taste.

So I'd suggest Domaine Carneros at the south end of Napa, then head up hwy 29 and pick a few along the route.  Sterling has nice views and Domain Chandon (in Yountville) is worth the stop for nice sparkling wine.  You'll see lots of wineries heading North on 29, so be a good hubby and stop when something catches her fancy.

The Limo alternative is a rented car to drive you on your wine tour...  enables more drinking and reduces stress, but they are not inexpensive.  We got a 6 person limo tour recently on Groupon or something like that for about 1/3 price and it worked out well.  Mostly we just drive ourselves and the driver watches their "tasting" rate.

Our typical wine tasting day involves going to a deli to get picnic supplies, making a couple stops to taste and buying a bottle of wine at one of the wineries with a good picnic setup to enjoy.  Many of the places have tables and even limited deli stuff (olives, cheese, bread, etc) in/around the tasting area.
