Harley Riders are Fags.

I love waving. Especially since driving on the right hand side of the street, you can get in a really convincing and totally cool wave while gassing through corners. I wave to cars that let me by and make a special point to wave at Harleys because I'm enjoying my ride and I hope they're enjoying theirs even though the bike they are riding has a heavy clutch, lousy brakes, slow ass engine, the handing of a tea trolley and has been proved, beyond a shadow of doubt, as the preferred get about of fags.
Reluctant wavers anonymous informs me that certain riders with skillz are unable to ride with one hand off the bars for fear of ditching in the weeds. To be fair I've had sport bike riders tarted up head to toe in brand new leathers with slider pucks glaring in the sun, not return a wave.
Regardless - I never let it bother me in the slightest - if  a healthy wave is good for the Queen, then it's good enough for me.
The Queen - hip hip hurrah.

... Seems like a lot of malice from Europe50...
Junkyardroad,
I wrote that just to get a couple of buddies of mine worked-up that own Harley's, that's it. I do admit that my story with my wife and kid is true (Sad to say) and the pipes are load and annoying beyond comprehension, but it's all in good fun.  :mocking:
Hey the way I look at it is, I drive a 25 year old bike and want to keep it stock, now that's something to laugh at.

Quotepicture that Klavdy keeps posting over the years.  Thank god that I can't seem to find a copy of it online at his usual stomping grounds right now - cuz I would probably link to it....and that would be just sick and wrong...

Now, you can't bring that up and leave me hanging... and

QuoteI did take my mother-in-laws 2009 Harley Deluxe something-or-other

Your mother-in-law rides a Harley? Wow. My mo-in-law's passion has been hating me for like 15 years. Wish she'd grab a big Dyna or something else to occupy herself.  Now I would like to type the F word but can't make it happen.

Quotewant to keep it stock, now that's something to laugh at

Nah. I like it. I used to be Joe hot-rodder-high-compression-big-block-with-4 speed, and now that I am, um, 41, and hairless in all the wrong places, I find more happiness in resto or resto-mods.  The FJ has more potential stock than I do.  What I can do is a decent job of keeping it clean (and quiet) and racking up some miles. When my wife pinched off a few kids, some of my toys went down the road, stopped the beers, then I realized that a guy sometimes can't afford to be without those finer things in life. Thus I am present here.

I have used 8 rolls of paper towels cleaning my 89, and it was pretty clean when I got it.

Strictly hetero.

Thanks for the laughs!

I ride everything and make it a point to wave at all other riders under all conditions. I don't care what they ride and if they wave back.  I have never quite understood the whole "you're a dick if you don't wave back" thing.  Why not just enjoy the ride?

I wave at everyone as well.  ...

I wave at everyone too, but I make a point of waving at FJ riders.  Although, around here that's more like "there goes Al", and he's thinking "hi Bob".   :bye:

I thought me "keeping my bike stock" post was something to laugh at untill I read your "paper towels" post.

i wish i had back all the riding time i wasted working on roadslug harleys in the name of so called being cool!! now that i have an fj i know what its like to truly eat up asphalt with power to spare with suspension & brakes that really work! i wave at all, but i no longer waste my time with the harley thing , the people that ride them now used to shun me as i was conciderd a rebel! i raced limeys & early jap bikes-flat track,as a kid & now am back where i belong performance!!! & i feel dam cool knowing i can whip the pants off of a blown harley! :sarcastic:
safety tip #1, dont forget the toilet paper!!

I went to a burn-out comp at our local pub and there was mainly harleys & hotrods.
At the finish there was a burnout done on an old Yamaha -probably drained of oil as it eventually seized and then it was thrown on the ground and destroyed with sledghammers.
I assumed it was an offering to the Harley god in the hope it would make Harleys more reliable.
I don't know if the Harley god was pleased enough to grant them their prayer.
I've often been asked, 'What do you old folks do now that you're retired'?

"Well. I'm fortunate to have a chemical engineering background, and one of the things I enjoy most is turning beer, wine, Scotch, and margaritas into urine."

Quoteuntill I read your "paper towels" post

It is kind of pathetic.  I spent 3 more hours tonite wiping it down and another quart of simple green, plus some time in the parts washer.

"Stock" will be about a 3 pound loss from current weight from loss of sludge. I feel 3jag's pain in cleaning up.  I even had to ask the wife to hold a tire spoon to take the load off my forehead when removing the tire so I could get the rear wheel clean(er).  Those old MEZ2s are hard as a rock. 3 spoons minimum.

I have never seen a Harley this dirty, except from the east coast. (doh) It is mostly old chain lube never wiped off except for the wheel.

Maybe bacause we don't have too many bugs to slime our chrome up here, winter + plenty of corners to carve = less clean up time between rides.

Unless you ride a chromed-over Harley.  Every time you ride up here, there is the likelihood of rain, fire, snow, landslides, crazy flatlanders, etc.  Nothing quite like riding past a forest fire at night.  But no fun cleaning ash off you $25k cruiser in the morning.

Quoteharleys & hotrods

Undeniable appeal.

"They just DEFINETLY seem to have their own creedo to keep the wave to their own kind."

I'm always amused when a thread degenerates into a "who doesn't wave" thread. Seriously, who really cares? Wave or don't wave, what's the big fuckin deal with waving? I do it sometimes when I'm in the mood but if I don't someone somewhere on a forums gonna get their panties all in a bunch? Really? I prefer the oil threads frankly. Or my new favorite...what makes George tick!

Well, if the Hardly folks did not, as a rule wave only to 'their own' they'd not be such a target  in such threads.  Hell, it speaks VOLUMES to me anyway that even South Park makes fun of them!
