Congrats on your baby fj. Check the wiring connections on the turn signal wiring and the controller itself. I had a friend who owned two of these bike and they both lost ignition do to the wiring and turn signal controller itself. hth

A 550 Vision??

John.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely, in an attractive & well preserved body...but rather to slide in sideways, body completely worn out and and with your last dying breath screaming, "HOOOYA LIFE, lets try that again"!!!

XJ550 Seca, the direct predecessor to the FJ600, and the progenitor of the whole straight-four chain-drive line of Yamaha bikes. Currently it's waiting on a new TCI box I ordered.

My first motorcycle was an '82 Seca 550.  LOVED that bike!  It's one of the reasons I'm hooked on Yamaha.   :good2:

Good choice Cap'n. My first real bike was a Seca 550 as well. That sounds like  a cool project JPanagel.

I was working at Yamaha of San Antonio when that bike came out and I remember thinking it was the sweetest thing I ever rode.  It is a real darling.
