Will a fj1100 engine fit in a fj1200 frame?

Will a fj1100 engine fit in a fj1200 frame?  I know it is the same engine, but will it accept all the same mounts as the fj1200.  I am not sure if they switch over to rubber mounts at one time and it may effect the fit of the engine.  Also, any major issues with the 1100 engine, or it's gear box.  I may have a chance at a cheap 84 parts bike and I am really only after the engine.  My bike is sitting at about 55,000 miles, and I know it has a long ways to go, but I would like to have an engine rebuilt. and ready, before mine starts having issues.

Thanks.

Later...     :bye2:

Not sure what year you are putting it in 84to 87 bolt in and go 89 and up carb&ignition change.

I believe (but am happy to stand corrected by those with more experience with earlier models than I) that up till '90, the crankcases were all the same on 1100s and 1200s. '91 on to the end were different, to allow for the rubber mounting.

Yes, I agree, but have yet to find a pair of '91-> cases....... I have a '90 engine that can be "trans-cased".

FJZ1 1200 - It'll do me just fine.
