Yesterday after a good ride my left boot was a bit sprayed on oil. Checking later in my workshop the clutch slave was starting to leaking, a quick fix, but the main problem is that there is a oil leaking from the left crank oil seal, number 2 at the pic.

Anyone know any trick to change the seal without splitting the crankcases?  :bad: HELP!

Thanks

Alf

I know there is a topic with this issue

but the question is that the FJ oil seal is made with a lip that fit inside a cases grove, so please, anyone have any experience with this concrete seal?

Pry it out. It will take some effort, but it will come out.

The new seal does not gave lip and you can see it via the RPM website.

I too had a leak from that seal after my enginrebuild last year, got my leak fixed with the way Randy describes.

Thank you guys.   :good2:

You´re right, Randy: my friend Mingo has given to me a seal that he had sitting around home and there is no lip. It must be that there is no oil pressure at this point and it is no necessary the lip. And easy task changing the seal then  :yahoo:
