Hey all
I did not think this would be a difficult item to find but it is proving to be a problem.  Tried looking for early 88 GSXR 38 tooth 5 bolt sprocket but don't think they are available, can anyone give me a good tip as to where I can get one
Thanks Chiz

Sprocket Specalists will make you as low as a 33 if you don't mind aluminum.  If you want steel, they only go down to 42.

Their site has a search that seems to be written by a moron, or I'd give you the interchange on it.

In ready-made steel sprockets, (for the 5 bolt carriers) I've never found less than 42 teeth.
I did see a catalog listing for a 41, but it was out of stock and date for re-stock unknown.

A 42 rear with an 18 front on a 17" 160 or 170 tire gives you almost exactly the same overall ratio Yamaha delivered the bike with.

I don't know which GSXR model you have but have you tried this ?   http://www.jtsprockets.com/catalogue

Chiz,

Current eBay posting for a 38T sprocket for a GSXR. This sprocket should fit your wheel.

And, if you put the '88 Suzuki GSXR 750 into the compatability gadget, it comes back NOT COMPATIBLE.

Look at the pic and count the bolt holes.  Chiz (and I) needs a sprocket with 5 bolt holes, not 6.

andyb

Yup, 88-89 were different than 90.

5 bolt gsxr is for 600 cush drive. Which is what I got both times I ordered gsxr 750 wheels. Off flea bay.
