I lost the damn choke knob screw disassembling my faring today .86 fj1200.
somebody's gotta know what size and thread it is. I really don't want to buy a whole new choke cable just to get a new one.

P.S.  Frank, the tach works fine.

From the Yahoo FJ list archive...

2.5 x 6 mm. Look on the fiche for the FZ750 it's listed there and
is the same one as the FJ only you don't have to buy the entire cable.
Sewing machine shops should also have screws of this size.

Like Bob N. says FZ choke nob is the same, except writing is sideways, and is available for cheap from Yamaha.

Bob M.(boyitgobob) was good enough to send me a couple of screws last year. I am not sure were he ordered them from. Hit him up and I'm sure he could send you in the right direction. Now I have a stock looking choke knob, instead of the ring thingy hanging there.

Here is a source if you can find 99 more friends that need the same screw.

I might have a set screw from a few that I bought that will hold the knob on. Let me know and I will check my pile of stuff in the garage and shoot one off to you. I might even throw in the micro sized Allen wrench that turns the micro sized screw for free.

6-32 set screw works fine as well.  I ended up stripping the 6-32 and had to go to an 8-32.  I got both at the local Ace Hardware store for about 50ยข ea.
