Hello Ontario FJers. I am becoming optimistic that we can ride again soon!! I am hosting a tech day , meet and greet , and ride for the 17th of May. Of course it is weather dependant. We will try to do a valve adjustment tutorial if any one is interested.  There is lots of room inside the garage so don't be shy. We will start at 8 ish and hope to wrap up around noon . Grab a quick lunch and head out for a nice scenic ride through Niagara.

Sounds like a great day!   .... warmer weather... shop talk....  lots of FJs....a nice ride.... just what we need after THAT winter!  :drinks:
Maybe I'll buzz up there via Buffalo.... again... ..... should I bring my camera?....

I'll be there...dealing with a work injury, shoulder Rotator cup. Won't be able to tell ya for sure if I'll ride out there, need to ride to see how bad it hurts. Need to put my stainless Supertrapp on and even if I can ride bike there, I want to come for sure learned lots at one in Erin.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely, in an attractive & well preserved body...but rather to slide in sideways, body completely worn out and and with your last dying breath screaming, "HOOOYA LIFE, lets try that again"!!!

Is there a limit to how many fj's a fella can bring?

fj johnnie

As many as you can fit in your trailer Rob. Unless you ride over. Then the limit is one.

I will have an assortment of valve shims here. You are welcome to use any of my tools. I have a compressor, a good solid bike lift and an overhead crane. Tool selection is good.  Plenty of space. We can easily park 15 bikes inside. Hopefully we will have a lot of helpers here. If you don't need anything done, hang out. I will make free coffee for everyone. Unless you are Dutch. They will have to pay.

Sabre093

Carb Sync for sure for me...And my old Kerker had hole so I could hear ticking...new Supertrapp doesn't so hopefully new gaskets on it and we will see..

If you are thinking of doing yours, Rich, your engine has to be cold, cold...  Dont start your engine Saturday morning, and you will have to trailer your bike over..... :mail1: :flag_of_truce:

Just the regular tools are required to access and remove the valve cover.... then you need the valve adjustment tool for exchanging shims, and .... the needed shims.... You should have a new valve cover gasket, and the bolt grommets/ seals on hand if you dont know when the last time they were replaced. A tiny bit of gasket silicone is needed for the 'half moons' on the gasket.....  Think that's it....have i missed anything?

I am bringing what shims I have for exchanging, my valve adjustment tool, and my carb sync tool as well....and any other tools I think I should take...,  so If you want to use those.... fill yer boots. :good:

I may have heard at one time that Kerker is made by Supertrapp... is that true??
Is the Kerker 4-1 header the same as the supertrapp?   If so, I wonder if the Supertrapp can would just fit onto the kerker 4-1 header... :scratch_one-s_head:

Sabre093

My Kerker is 4-1-2....I'm putting on a Stainless 4-1 Supertrapp

Happy spring guys!
Still have snow banks and a foot of snow on the lawn but hope to be riding soon.
I'll note that date on my calendar and see if I can join you.
