Wich oil to use;;;

Hi fellas

My Yamaha FJ1100 came witout its owners manual.. I have now gotten a new filter, and planning to change oil.

Ive bought a 10w-40 Synthetic bike oil, with the following spesifications;
JASO MA2, (Jaso T903:2006), API:SM

Can this be used on my 1984 FJ1100?

Yes, it should work just fine 

People have different views and meanings when it comes to the topic of oil...
As long as you find a brand, type of oil and quiality that works for you and your bike, go for it..

Ja, fikk ikke med instruksjonsbok med sykkelen, så blir litt gjetting hva den skal ha.. 10w-40 syntetisk fra biltema ble valget (heller bytte oftere)

Grattis med første turen Var masse ute i februar/mars, men nå er det skikkelig vinter i Bodø igjen :/

So....my mom is from Horton. When she would stub her toe or something she would yell "fond da helvita" (forgive the spelling but that's how it sounds) but she refuses to tell me what it means. So...what's it mean?

Hehe...  I guess the correct spelling would be, "faen i helvete"...
There isn't any direct translation, but is equivalent to "for f&$ck sake" or just "f&#$ck". It's a sware word commonly used.

The word "faen" could aldo translate to "fuck"  and the word "helvete"
Is the same as the word "hell" in English 
Your mom, is she from Horton in US,  or did you mean Horten in Norway?

Yes i figured an oil thread is a recipe for disaster  
Those swear words is much funnier to discuss, especially when they are translated!

As they would say in the northen parts of the country: Mannskit!

On both of those subjects, when my son was only about 4 or 5 years old he chose my birthday card himself. It had a picture of a wishing well, an oil can and fork jabbed into something.

I believe as long as the oil meets or exceeds the JASO spec, you're good to go.

Of course there is always Yamalube, Hondalube, Golden Spectro & Rotella or DELO-400. I think that is the order in which I would pursue a container of new oil.
