Its the little tricks you learn along the way that make life a hell of a lot easier! I got taught this way of removing bearings and the like when i was 15 and have never forgotten it. Great stuff.

You could just about fill a book with tips and techniques but "heat and hammers" will get anything (automotive) apart and makes most special tools designed to do so redundant, and in many cases, less efficient.
