Im doing the rear shock f4i mod on my 85.
Im unable to get the bearings for the bottom bolt locally but i can probably get a bushing made.
Any thoughts on bushing vs bearings would be appreciated.

What is the bearing size you need? Bushings will not last as long and tend to have more friction in high load dynamic applications. If you can get a Teflon lined bushing then it will last longer and have less friction. Bearings are the way to go if you can source them. My 86' has an odd ball size bearing that I sourced through Kaman, it took a week to get them. I guess the other question is how fast are you looking to get them?

According to dads fj post on the f4i mod i will need 2 18mmx24x12mm bearings and 2 18mmx24x4mm seals.

I got mine from a local business that rebuilds electric motors. They deal with odd sized bearings on motors. Monkey what's Kaman?

All I need to get of the big stuff are the brakes and tires.Where are you in town maybe I can pop by and have a look at your steed.
