Hiya everyone and thanks goes to the guys who look after this site. Just bought a 1989 fj1200 which will be delivered by end of month. Took a big risk buying a bike with no keys and to far away to go to see but life is chances and choices. Not owned a bike for a few years so may have a refresher course or 2 but I do drive regularly for work. About a 1000 miles a week. My previous bike was a blade but I was recently married and wanted something to tour Europe on :-)

Welcome Scrag, the loony bin just got larger by one....
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

Welcome to the group,  :hi:

You will love the FJ for 2 up touring. Much more grunt than your blade with a bit less horsepower, but the power is spread more evenly. A good locksmith should be able to remedy the no key issue.

I'm not the fastest FJ rider, I am 'half-fast', the fastest slow guy....

Hi Scrag. Did you get it off eBay, by chance? Very tidy FJ, with R1 brakes, but no keys?

I very nearly bought that one! :-)
