Oh crap!! I said the "R" word and everyone gets a woody for a big fire, seeing who's has a bigger one than the others,  something about Redcap, potato cannons, hide the sheep, guns, politics, oil, tires, what oil is best for your tires, what main jet is best for your gun, and is that "Pink" stripe really manly? Did I miss anything?

Shit storm imminent..... :flag_of_truce:

Mother.... :sorry: Please don't ban me...
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

Yeah Ed - we lost that battle LONG ago.  Not sure we were ever in the running really...     :flag_of_truce:

So - all I could do was hide about $30.00 worth of fireworks in their fire before they started it up - honestly, it was the least I could do to help out!

(oh - it also helps that they can get the owner of the KOA drunk and then proceed to build the huge fire - with his blessing no less!  We have not had that luxury yet...)

There was a battle?

That was one of those puny-assed Tellico fires you put the fireworks in... small fireworks, by ECFJR standards.

They ain't fireworks 'til TPPD shows up!

Okay, it does help that Garry likes to drink with us, but he's not the owner.

Hard to believe that they still let us get away with the big fires after scorching that tree a few years ago.     :shok:

Yep , that poor tree....  It may be permanently damaged, its been a few years since they moved the fire pit and it shows no signs of healing.

Heres another pic that sets me on fire

The Tellico fires are nothing compared to the conflagration at Boone.

It's a pretty good fire when it burns all night in a driving rainstorm and all you have to do the next day is throw a few wet logs on glowing embers to bring it back to life. I miss sifting through the molten chunks of aluminum and glass at the end of the week.

Funny little story about my run up to attendance to my first and only Rally:

ctrl-C, ctrl-V from yahoo:

I called one night in Jan to talk to the owner to get my reservation, [can't remeber the womans name] and, not having "met" any of you lot, I asked her how you guys were -howl at the moon lunatics/ mellow old men, or somewhere in between. She replied, "they're a great group of guys, 'nice boys', although... [she hesitated as if the other shoe was about to drop] ...their camp fires are a little on the large side for a campground..."

Sure enough!
