Form follows function in my book, but I might have to make an exception.  Not sure if the extra fin-age helps with cooling but I like the look.  Anybody seen these before?

Never seen anything like it. Do the add any cooling? To me, the only think it seems to improve is the looks..  :scratch_one-s_head:

Whant to check out my photos on the bike??

Looks great, and if it's attached properly, it should pull a bit of heat off the engine. At least in the computer world, every bit of cooling fin helps..

Man, that's a nice looking FJ.  What are the scoops on top to the fuel tank for??  Form or function?

TexasDave

Looks like there are two gauges frenched on the top of the gas tank. One probably for oil temp and maybe other for oil pressure? Wish we could get more pictures.  Dave

Well I guess Japanese culture has changed since 1972 when I was there. There was not alot of personal cars on the roads and even less motorcycles. It cost the equivalent of 600 dollars in 1972 money to get a personal drivers license. This also required a month of instruction with driving on a simulated streets with all the street signs and lights. Driving was considered a male only thing. 97% of all cars sold were sold to females at that time because cars were considered part of the household and the females took care of household business. Can you see a wife visiting the Yamaha dealership to purchase a bike for her husband today?  Dave

Nice...I always loved the JPS paint style and colors...Mario Andretti drove a Lotus painted like that to win the 1978 Formula 1 championship
