Hmmm,
Are you all going to drone down cop & camera infested highways at 100 kmh?
No one else riding the riders roads from S.E QLD?
Bruxner, Gwydir, Oxley then the Putty to Bylong Valley way,Sofala, etc?

Yeap will be cutting up a few on the way down and the rest on the way back... :good2: :good2: :good2: :good2:

It's going to be hot and humid for the most part, lots of the attendees are not used to riding long distances in such a short time either.

Here's a few things that have been found to help
Read up on the signs of dehydration and try to recognise the symptoms in yourself.
Water, get a CamelBak type thing, only fill it with water, don't guzzle soft drinks, power/energy drinks etc and try to eat lightly.
Ibuprofen or codeine & paracetamol tablets, (it's legal in Australia, up to 15 mg per tablet of codeine)
Get a neck muff, cuts out a great deal of wind noise
Ear plugs,
Get a "Throttle Rocker" type of throttle control
You'll be better off with a jacket and pants on the bike even when it's stinking hot, (less dehydration), than you would be just wearing a t shirt.
Your face will get really sunburnt, even with a visor, use sunblock and moisturiser.
Write down phone numbers, addresses etc. as well as having them in your phone, that way if the phone shits itself, you've still got them.

Ride at your own pace, everyone's going to the same place, you'll catch up with them.

Sure will be a shock for those arriving and riding, not so much for the trailer trash, in the heat. All good advise Klav. I will be stopping regular and drinking plenty of water....

Heading to Byron on the Monday for a look round. Saturday is the Yacht club lunch. Plan to ride Sunday local to give Kevin a chance to get used to left hand riding. Thats all the plans will wing the rest.

Cheers

Monday to Byron, eh?
Where are you starting out from?
You going back home on the Monday, yeah?
You know, not riding down south?
Could go over Tomewin then the Burringbar Range,Tweed valley way, go back through Bangalow and onto Nimbin then back north.
It's a good loop.

Byron is the first stop for the night and will wind our way down the coast from there. Probably Nimbin for lunch Tuesday then keep heading south... No real plan though..

Yeah, I got my Ws mixed up, Wollongong is where we are supposed to be Thursday night. Your plans coming back sound like what I was planning to do Doug, wanted to do a couple of laps around Bathurst and get back on the Tuesday.  (or even Monday night, depending on Glenns schedule)
As a side not, I just received today my little puncture repair kit to stick under the seat, something I've never had before. Hopefully won't have to use it.
Ray, if you're going to be in Wollongong Thursday night, keep heading down the Prince's Hwy to Narooma and come up with us. The route we're taking is one of the best down this end of the state. https://maps.google.com.au/maps?saddr=Bermagui,+New+South+Wales&daddr=Tathra,+New+South+Wales+to:Pambula,+New+South+Wales+to:Wyndham,+New+South+Wales+to:Bombala,+New+South+Wales+to:Dalgety,+New+South+Wales+to:Jindabyne,+New+South+Wales&geocode=&sll=-32.830735,147.451465&sspn=11.91543,21.159668&hl=en
Let me know if you're interested and we can change our departure time to suit you. At this stage there will be four in the group. Regards, Pete.

That sounds like a plan Pete (For the Friday morn?). I'll suggest it to Glenn (Voyager), and its on the way from Wollongong so sounds good.  :good2:

Actually after speaking with Glenn, if we were to head south to Burmagui from Wollongong Pete it adds an extra 4 hours onto the trip, instead of it being a  total of 4.5 hours for us going from Wollongong-Canberra-Jindabyne. Looks like it is a 3.5 hour ride you are doing on the Friday, ours would be a 7.5 hour ride in total for the Friday. After doing the 1000kms trip to Wollongong the day before, we'll probably go for the shorter way to Jindy. Thanks for the offer though, (I need to save my butt for the Saturday ride :drinks:)

Ray, it's a shame you can't come down this way but I do see your point about making Friday into a much longer ride. Maybe next year you can come through here and ride down to Tassie with us .
See you next Friday. Have a safe and enjoyable ride, Regards, Pete.

BE CAREFUL!! if your going to get one of those throttle rocker things, they have caused quite a few accidents and near misses, pulling the front brake on can also cause the bike to accelerate if not set up properly..........
just a friendly warning. cheap can be nasty

X-Ray

I've used one of the Vista cruise "throttle locks" for years and its perfect. Its out of the way, locks on/off with a thumb flick, and you can still roll the throttle on/off with it adjusted correctly, nice and safe. It doesn't compensate for hills etc of course, but for the flat bits, works a treat  :good2:     For around $40.00 great value.
