motorcycle lift's

 Was wondering if anyone would know of a Canadian/Ontario lift supplier that stocks the Moto Max 500 lift table or one just as good that does not have to come from over the pond or deep south,or even plans to build your own maybe a consideration depending on material costs. I am getting sick of being on my knees and bending down all the time. I didnt seem to care when I was in my twenties and thirties. Funny how that is eh! No its not.  . One of my friends father used to say this" Getting old isnt for sissy's". I believe it too.

Worth the drive, in my opinion...as I have a Princess Auto lift that I picked up, used, from a Harley guy that was selling up a few years ago.

Your knees and back, (as well as your FJ), will be all the better for having one of these lifts in your garage/work shop

Bob, your bikes every bit as stable on the centre stand on the lift as it is on the floor. Having it on it's wheels limits a lot of the things you can do while it's raised.

That was also from Princess Auto. I added some extensions to the mounts to clear the exhaust.



I'll never use it again. If you want to drive out to Whitby it's yours for $50.

I also put a bottle jack under the front of the motor to clean or remove the front wheel and don't bother with the wheel clamp. I quite happily move it around while it's raised.
Just don't be moving it forward if the wheels are likely to hit a crack it the concrete.

Ya, I'd would like to do that too, but my platform is too narrow.  It was cheaper, but I'm not able to raise the rear wheel on it. I also do the 'jack under the front' to work on the front wheel, but on the ground.

I have too many platforms for the FJ; I use this one in the summer...

My FJ project is also on the lift the same way, except I used a couple of ratchet straps at the rear to lift the front.

 I like the full ramp style lift but they both have there place for different work being done. I tracked down one from some good advice inside this site from princess auto. Its 399 dollars and the store  in Barrie has two. Ouch. that could be my new rs-1 helmet. I want to wait for a sale but am on layoff so I have the time now to start my randy mods and I would love this lift. The wife says go for it but her credit is always at REDLINE.  Its also a fair drive. So I think I am going to twist my arm( isnt that a hip song) for u canucks...... and hop in the old 97 nissan hardbody and burn 100 in fuel to get this job done. Ramble ramble ramble

Right on.  Been trying to find a decent lift at a decent price.  Any word on the $399.99 one at Princess Auto.  I don't mind the manual only aspect.

 Well this lift from princess auto seems to be what I was looking for. The scissor part of the lift functions inside of its own frame so having wood board flooring in my shop it was easy to shim up level. There is a plate that comes out under rear tire. Not sure of that yet. It is heavy, I hand bombed it myself with a few grunts but would not advise it. Seems to be reasonably stable at full height of 29 1/2 inches. It would be a great deal if you can wait until they go on sale, I couldnt wait so I went for it. I cant wait to start using it. One guy said he uses it for all kinds of things like lawn mowers and snow throwers and has not had a bike on his yet but he thinks its great.  Hope this helps.
