At present I am "hornless" I removed mine and spiced the wires together....

You connected the horn wires together without a load between them?  Have you pressed the horn button since you did this? 

That is now a direct short to ground which should blow the fuse.

I too am hornless. My plan for the horn button is a PTT for my Kenwood radios....

You are correct Pat. I will look at that tomorrow. So far no blowen fuses and she's been running.  Maybe I just terminated the wires?  A lot was going on at the time.  I am getting close to the rewiring of the horns, running lights, power outlet, top box running light and I installed some heated grips along with a 6 circuit fused power panel. I have been putting off the actual wiring until I can get my head into it.

I removed the horn with the idea of making a headlight bulb change quick and tool less (large hands). I don't know if I will like the looks of the Supertones mounted outside but I will give it a shot.  Here is some pictures of  "Racerman 27410's" FJ with Hella's, you have to scroll down to see the pictures.

PTT for the button is a pretty good use of it.  I tried a VOX operation once into a 2 meter rig and it didn't work to well on a bike. To many noise variables. At my age I think the less distractions the better.    I won't even talk on a cell phone while driving. Have a good day Pat.  Waiting for the game to start.....
