87 fj stops running

hi i have a fj1200 87 this doesn't happen often but is a mystery. I'll be riding along  and all of a sudden it will start to lose power the it stops running. so i wait 5 minutes open the fuel cap then shut it again then start it up again and it runs fine any idea's .cheers wheels

sounds like the gas cap vapor lock problem that is common to  the fj. you will need to modify your gas cap by removing the flapper. I think the procedure is documented in the files section under gas cap mod.

this problem occurs at freeway speeds or when you get down past quarter tank due to the gravity feed fuel system of the 87.
