Fuel prices

Put fuel in the bike the other day, normally don't worry about price just put it in, but watching the numbers click up wondered just how much a gallon of petrol was these days, stopped it at 4.5 litres which is a gallon in Australia and was greeted with $7.55!!!

That was premium 95, so normal unleaded would be a couple of cents cheaper, price I think was around $1.60 something a litre at the time.

I remember when I was a kid and a gallon of petrol cost 50 cents. Just wondering what people around the world pay for fuel.

I feel with you...
Here in Norway the price for one liter is currently approx: $2.40!!  :dash2:
Its become rather excpencive. Wonder what prices are elsewhere in the world...? Guessing it is excpencive all over....

Cheers

Here in the UK it varies from £1.30 at supermarkets to £1.40 at small independent garages.

The only places that it seems to be cheap is in the USA and Canada.   But then again we'll hear some saying it's not.  Well it is compared to the rest of the world. :flag_of_truce:

Ouch!!!! :shok: I thought we were getting ripped off, but we've got nothing to complain about compared to you.

I was down in the Dallas/Fort Worth area last Wednesday and Thursday and saw 87 octane as low as $2.99 a gallon, but in the small town where I live we are paying $3.11 a gallon. I can live with that :good:

Currently in Canada we are paying $1.25- 1.35 per liter and more for premium. Countries like Qatar in the middle east are way cheaper. My friend filled up his Jeep Grand Cherokee with premium for $17.00.

No need to brag about it.

All things equal, I like living in the UK, but do wish we had cheaper petrol...and better weather...

Equivalent petrol price we are paying approx $8.50 per gallon (4.5 litres-ish) and most of that is tax..

Arnie

Remember that when you're trying to compare prices, that a US Gallon is 3.78 liters, while an Imperial Gallon is 4.5 liters.

So the 91 Octane "regular U/L" I bought for A$1.49/L = A$5.63/USGal (US$5.06) or A$6.70/UKGal (3.66 pounds)

[Anyone know the keycode for UK pound sign?]

I believe that Venezuela has the cheapest petrol at about $0.17/Liter

And, I actually remember when gas was 19.9 cents/USgal at a station on 10Mile and Coolidge (Oak Park, MI) probably about 1959.

As much as we'd all like it cheaper, we'll pay (and grumble) no matter what the price. :-(

movenon

3.19 to 3.21 a gallon today.

Very volatile pricing here in Central Indiana.

For about a week right before Christmas, it was $2.85/US Gal, then it jumped straight to $3.39, typical of the way it goes around here.  Price will slowly decline, then sharply spike.

Currently, it's $3.49.
